Janelle Monáe Embodies Martell Blue Swift Whiskey's Boundary Breaking Ethos in Aspirational Spot

Little Minx director/Artist child. is the filmmaker behind Martell Blue Swift’s commercial film for the new brand campaign, ‘Soar Beyond the Expected.’ Renowned artist Janelle Monáe is featured and she embodies the brand’s boundary-breaking ethos, declaring at the onset “I’ve never seen myself as just one thing.” child. and her women-led production team bring the commercial to life, as seen in everything from Janelle’s unapologetically original performance and the casting of her ensemble, to the spot’s production design, costume design and cinematography. 

child., who recently directed Janelle’s ‘Turntables’ video, started her career as a photographer and creative director. Her music videos and commercials reflect her bold, stylised aesthetic and lush use of light and colour.
