Covid Car Cover Keeps Health Workers Moving During the Covid-19 Crisis
AXA Insurance Ireland and Renault Group, along with its dealer network, have joined forces to provide complimentary Renault cars complete with complimentary AXA motor insurance for the next few months for doctors and nurses returning from overseas to support the HSE during the Covid-19 crisis. The initiative is to acknowledge the exceptional contribution being made by returning medics to support the national response to the pandemic. The agency responsible is Publicis Dublin. Ger Roe, board creative director at Publicis Dublin who works across both accounts said his MD Padraig Burns, inspirationally reminded the entire Publicis team that for sure everyone will suffer. But this is a landmark time and we need to look outwards rather than just inwards. We need to see what we can do and what our clients can do. And it’s here where the idea was born. Ger said a small number of people in the agency pulled together to get it out as fast as possible for our returning heros. “We don’t exist without our clients and it’s a tough time for us and them, however it’s nothing to what some people are going through. We are very proud of how our clients came together and how they put this initiative top of their list to make it happen so fast.
Paddy Magee the country operations director at Renault Group Ireland said: “We as a nation are so grateful to all those working on the frontline treating patients and helping to combat the horrors of Covid-19. It shows real courage to come home from overseas to help us fight the battle and we really appreciate what these returning doctors and nurses are doing. We hope that supplying cars to these frontline medical staff can somehow help to make their commutes to and from work a little easier and less stressful, and we and our dealer network are delighted to be of assistance in some small way”.
Antoinette McDonald is a director at AXA Ireland said: “Our frontline doctors, nurses and support staff have inspired the whole country and none more so than the many doctors and nurses now returning from as far away as Australia to help the national Covid-19 effort. We want to help these men and women get organised with practical things like cars and insurance as they prepare to return to hospitals around the country and this is the most practical way in which we can help.” Ms. McDonald is a director at AXA with responsibility for direct, partner and customer Experience.
The website for returning medics who will be on the frontline to apply for a car is here.
The only requirement from the medics is that they are Irish citizens, and have proof of the fact that they have returned home to support the national response to the pandemic, and that they have a full driver’s licence.
